Sustainable Fishing Initiative Improves Livelihoods in Shimoni-Vanga

A new gear-transition program supported by GEF-SGP in Shimoni-Vanga seascape is empowering fisher families to adopt sustainable fishing methods. Beach Management Units (BMUs) are leading the initiative, working with over 200 fisher households to replace destructive fishing gear with sustainable alternatives.
