A multi-partnership initiative funded by the Government of Germany, improving the recognition and effectiveness of Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas for biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and resilience to climate change. 12 projects across six thematic areas in Kenya.

The ICCA-GSI (Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas - Global Support Initiative) is a multi-partnership initiative implemented by UNDP through the GEF's SGP delivery mechanism, funded by the Government of Germany.

Its central objective is to improve the recognition and overall effectiveness of ICCAs for biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and resilience to climate change. In Kenya, the programme supports 12 projects across six thematic areas — from traditional medical knowledge transmission to sustainable wildlife conservation and community-led governance.
